A COVID-19 outbreak in the in-patient department of the Haliburton hospital has been declared over.
In a release to media Jan. 3, Haliburton Highlands Health Services spokesperson Lauren Hunter said there were a total of nine positive cases during the outbreak, which was declared on Dec. 18.
Regular activities around the department will now resume, including receiving new admissions and allowing up to two visitors at a time for each inpatient.
Staff will continue to follow Prevention and Control (IPAC) measures in the department, including mandatory masking in all patient care settings, mandatory vaccination, and regular surveillance testing before being allowed entry.
