Today (Jan. 3), the Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge (HKPR) District Health Unit declared that the COVID-19
outbreak in the in-patient department of the Haliburton Hospital is over.

There were nine patient cases during the outbreak, which was declared by the HHHS Infection Prevention and Control (IPAC) Department on Dec. 18, 2022.


Regular activities for the department will now resume, including receiving new admissions
and allowing up to two visitors at a time for each inpatient.


HHHS said in a media release, “staff will continue to follow IPAC measures in the department, including mandatory masking in all patient care areas, mandatory vaccination, and regular surveillance testing before entry department.
