The Minden Pharmasave U15 Local League Yellow came up huge in their home opener against the Brock Wild Oct. 23 in Minden.
With regular netminder, Gavin Suke, sidelined by injury, Matt Mueller stepped between the pipes to backstop a big 5-3 win. Up the middle, Linus Gervais fired home a hat-trick and Travis Mann racked up four points in stellar performances.
Wingers Kylie Simms, Liam Grant, Wes Cowen, Hunter Davidson, and Jozef Porzuczek kept the pressure high, creating multiple opportunities with relentless work on both the forecheck and backcheck.
On defence, the blueline stepped up big without Mueller. Mackay Windover set the tempo with non-stop hustle, while Connor Iles used his high hockey IQ to pick off pucks in key moments. Greyson Thomas brought the firepower with a booming point shot and a tough physical presence to protect Mueller in net.
The team hammer – the Thor-inspired player of the game award – went to Claire Hamilton, who moved back to defence for the night and absolutely crushed it.
