Twelve teams and just under 200 players hit the baseball diamonds in Minden this season, with teams competing in their year-ending tournament this past weekend (Sept. 19-20).
Minden Mixed Baseball League (MMBL) executive member, Cheryl Smith, said the A champs were Balls Deep, over finalists Kraken Beers, for the Arnold Cowen Memorial Trophy.
The Rick Kellestine Memorial Trophy was won by B champs Smokin Bases over finalists Full Count.
The Jim O’Neil Memorial Trophy went to C champs Trash Pandas (who brought home the championship in honour of their team captain Kalem Kyle, whose jersey hung all day in his memory) over finalists One Hit Wonders.
The Newfer Burk Legacy Award recipient for the 2026 season was Andi Donaldson.
The executive, comprising, Tracey Gilbert, Chris Eskelin, Donaldson and Smith, said the season runs from the May long weekend to the third weekend in September with 16 weeks of ball on Wednesday and Thursday nights. Anyone interested, or having questions, can reach out to Smith at 705-455-2500.
