Five longtime volunteer trustees with Trillium Lakelands District School Board (TLDSB) were honoured for their years of service during the final meeting of the 2022-26 term Oct. 27.
Chief education officer, Wes Hahn, congratulated Heather Bradley, Bruce Reain, Louise Clodd, Judy Saunders and Haliburton’s Gary Brohman for their commitment to student learning and wellbeing and for helping to oversee the board’s “positive growth” in classroom results.
He presented each with a TLDSB Champion Award to mark their service.
Brohman, who was first elected in 2010 and served four terms, shared some advice with his fellow trustees before departing.
“Every mother and father sends us the best kid they have every day.
They do not keep the good ones at home – so, ladies and gentlemen, look after these kids like they’re your own.
Kindness works every time… I think the role of a trustee is to help the staff in the school, and senior administration, with that motto.”
