Subway moving to a new home this summer

Haliburton's Subway restaurant, long a favourite for high schoolers and construction workers, is moving to a new home this summer.
The downtown fixture near the corner of Maple and Highland will relocate to the old dollar store near the Foodland at the end of July.
The new location will be larger and feature a more modern open concept, according to owner Peter Shah, who has run the franchise for the past decade.
He currently employs 10 staff and is getting ready for the summertime seasonal boost of a couple more part-timers, he said in an interview this week.
The Haliburton location is one of 13 he operates in Ontario and it and his Minden store are among his busiest.
He is signing his lease this week, and takes possession of the new location on July 21. Plans are to move in time for the Civic Holiday long weekend.
There is no word yet about plans for the current store, which shares a building with the Home Hardware.
